AscendEX is a cryptocurrency exchange aimed at both retail investors and institutions. The exchange was developed by a group of Wall Street quantitative trading veterans who felt the need to create a more sophisticated trading platform.
In 2018, the exchange was originally launched as BitMax, with a native cryptocurrency token BTMX. Since then, it has seen steady growth and a growing user base. In early 2021, the exchange decided to rebrand to AscendEX and modify the attached token to ASD (BTMX).
The exchange offers users the ability to actively trade in the cryptocurrency markets through spot, margin, and derivatives products . Along with more traditional trading options, AscendEX has features that involve the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector. Mobile and web applications are available.
